Stoumann's unwooded chardonnay was rated champion white cultivar for 2009 in the Olifantsrivier Region.
The other wines also received excellent ratings.

Erik Schlünz was appointed manager/winemaker at Stoumann's Wines in 2008. He has 25 years' experience as winemaker and was SA Young Wine Champion in 2006, when he received the Genl. Smuts Trophy for a red Merlot/Ruby Cabernet blend.

July 2008 - The Olifants River Floods its banks

Stoumanns Wines, and everybody involved, also experienced the trauma of the flood. These are comparative pictures of the area, taken from more or less the same position.

Stoumanns wines are produced in the smallest estate wine cellar in the Olifants River region. It is situated near the town of Vredendal on the West Coast of South Africa. Several vintages of white and red wines are produced. Exclusivity is a given.
